Payment Policy: All services require a 10% deposit at the time of booking.
Required Veterinarian Care: We ask that all clients submit written proof from their Veterinarian that their pet has received all required vaccinations prior to the start of any services here at Island Pet Resort . Vaccinations should have been administered at least 24 hours prior to arrival. Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella are the mandatory minimum. We accept puppies aged 4 months and older. All pets must be owned for a minimum of 30 days.
If upon arrival, fleas or ticks are found on your pet, Island Pet Resort will treat as necessary at your expense, for a reduced fee of $10. Please make us aware if you are already current on flea and tick preventative or if someone else has applied preventative.
Health: All dogs must be in good health and free of any communicable diseases. If your dog has been ill in the past thirty (30) days, please inform our staff if you have noted any vomiting, diarrhea, sneezing, coughing and/or any other symptoms. Dogs with such symptoms will not be admitted. Female dogs cannot be in heat during their stay.
Day/Night Care/Overnight Lodging and Evaluation: All new clients must call to make an appointment for a meet and greet pet evaluation. All pets must undergo an evaluation by a Island Pet Resort Staff Member prior to their first Daycare/lodging appointment. Not all pets excel in the daycare environment and, therefore, may not be allowed to participate in daily daycare. Pets that are not compatible for the daycare program will be exercised separately. Pets that have not been to Island Pet Resort for six months or longer must be re-evaluated prior to resuming daycare services. Pets cannot be lodged longer than 30 consecutive days at a time. I understand that my pet(s) will be considered abandoned if not claimed within 7 days of my scheduled pick-up date. I understand that upon abandonment and without further notice to me, Island Pet Resort will be the legal owner of the pet(s) and I understand they will have the right to make other arrangements for the pet that are deemed appropriate. I further understand that if my pet(s) is abandoned by me, I am still responsible for all fees incurred by Island Pet Resort. I understand and agree that if any pet is abandoned by me. I will be unable to retrieve possession and expressly waive all claims against Island Pet Resort for creating other arrangements for my pet pursuant to this policy.
Grooming: Pets with matted coats need extra attention during their grooming session. Matts left on a pet grow tighter and can damage the pet’s skin, eventually tearing it. Island Pet Resort will not continually de-matt your pet for you. Brushing out tightly matted coats is painful. It is your responsibility as the owner to brush your pet between each grooming. Heavily matted coats will be shaved. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes the risk of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles and skin folds trapped under the matts. Heavy matting can also attract moisture and urine close to the skin, allowing mold, fungus and bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming procedure. The after-effects of matt removal can include skin redness, itchiness, self-inflicted irritation or abrasions. Shaving matted ears can cause a pet to shake their head. Pets that require having their tails shaved may also act differently by continuously sitting or chasing their tail. There is always the possibility that an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care. Issues that can occur include cuts, nicks, scratches and quicking of nails. This often happens when your pet is wiggling or moving around. Clients will be permitted in the grooming area during the pet’s grooming session. Island Pet Resort will advise if muzzling is necessary during grooming. Muzzling does not harm the animal. It protects both the animal and the groomer. In some cases, a muzzle may even calm a stressed animal, allowing the grooming process to continue.
Dangerous, Aggressive & Destructive Animals: Clients must inform Island Pet Resort if their pet(s) has bitten or are aggressive toward people or other pets. Failure to inform will result in an additional charge of $25 per day to cover expenses for extra staff to care for your pet for the remainder of the stay. If your pet should bite, the client agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income, and equipment damage. If proof of current rabies vaccination has not been provided and cannot be verified, the pet may be impounded by Animal Control for the required quarantine period pursuant to state law. Dogs who exhibit destructive behaviors will require special accommodations to prevent damage to the facility as well as bodily injury to the pet. If a dog is destructive, Island Pet Resort will document the destruction and accommodations will be made. This will result in a room change. I agree to pay a $25 fee for any damages. There is no fee per day for the remainder of the stay. I understand my dog will be placed in a holding kennel.
Attorney Fees: Client agrees to be responsible for any and all attorney’s fees and expenses incurred by Island Pet Resort in collection of any debt owed by client or for enforcement of this contract.
Cancellation Policy: Upon booking a boarding reservation, I must put down a deposit of a Single Overnight Boarding to hold and guarantee the reservation. I understand the deposit is Non-Refundable. I understand that, if I need to change my appointment time or cancel it, I must give at least 7 days notice, so the appointment time can be made available to another client who is on the waiting list. If the reservation is canceled, a House Credit of the deposit will be available to use. If the boarding reservation is canceled Less Than 168 Hours (7 Days) of the scheduled check-in date, the deposit will be forfeited and will be applied towards the late cancellation fee. If a dog checks out early from their boarding stay for Any Reason, unused nights Cannot be used as credit and will be forfeited. All sales are final. All prices are subject to change.
